On Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the JEFFCO Fairgrounds, located in Jefferson County, Colorado, at the SPARTA 77 Mixed Martial Arts Event, Josh “AR” Taylor proved his nickname to be fitting once again by earning victory via a rear naked choke submission :53 seconds into the first round of the fight. It was a clinic, demonstrating a Jiu Jitsu centric fighter’s approach to achieving victory: (1) Close the distance; (2) Clinch; (3) Take the fight to the ground; (4) Obtain a dominant position; (5) Finish. This is what Josh’s Jiu Jitsu Professor had to say about his achievement on Facebook:

“So proud of Josh “Always Ready” Taylor! Once again he accomplished amazing things! So much of fighting, of being a true mixed martial artist, lies in how we deal with adversity. Josh was scheduled to fight on the October 4th LFA card for the first time at a weight of 145lbs (a substantial weight cut). When that card was completely scrapped and the entire event canceled a lesser athlete would have broken camp and stopped the weight cut; instead Josh continued training and found another bout on the Sparta 77 card. When fight night came on October 12th, “Always Ready” Josh Taylor put on a fight of the night performance, winning by rear naked choke just :53 seconds in to the 1st round. Brilliant! Way to go Josh! Way to go Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton! So proud! Winner! Second finish in 3 fights! Awesome!”

Brilliant performance. So inspiring. Keep it up “AR” Josh Taylor, keep it up!
