On December 17, 2023, after having won Gold at the 2023 IBJJF World Jiu Jitsu Championship, achieving that rare pinnacle of practice that many athletes pursue, but few achieve, Stephanie Burke was awarded her CBJJS Purple Belt by her Professors, Sean and Teri Stewart. Way to go Stephanie!
This is what Stephanie had to say on Facebook about the achievement:
“One of the few things money can’t buy 
Professor Sean and Professor Teri awarded me a purple belt in jiu jitsu today, following my win at IBJJF NoGi World Championship last weekend. Jiu jitsu doesn’t lie- your skill is tested every time you step on the mats. To be awarded a purple belt by these particular black belts at their academy is an honor beyond words. Thank you both, and all our teammates, for many years of support and wisdom. As my Professor tells me 
if I can make it to purple, I can make it to black 
and purple is dangerous to anyone. Special shout out to @shaunp5280 for being such a vital part of every success I have on and off the mat!”
Wining at Worlds was no small feat, as Professor Sean stated on Facebook after Stephanie’s victory:
“As a coach, as a Jiu Jitsu Professor, there are few occurrences more joyous, more gratifying, more validating than witnessing your athlete achieve the pinnacle of their practice: Victory – Gold – at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Worlds! Today I witnessed Stephanie Burke achieve that ever elusive goal by winning Gold at the 2023 IBJJF World Jiu Jitsu No-Gi Championship! Champion! Way to go Steph! Throughout their Jiu Jitsu journey many athletes will attempt to achieve such a rarified victory, and most never will. I am honored and amazed by your achievement, your victory. You are a World Champion! Thank you for being a Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Satori athlete and lifting our banner so high! Brilliant! You are a 10 (literally the 10th CBJJS World Champion) and I could not be more proud! Amazing!”
