Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton sent a Combat Crew consisting of eight athletes (Don Westman, Tanner Gott, Vance Barksdale, Lewi Gualt, Heather Westman, Joe Cousino, Walker Madden, and Allison Walters) down to NAGA Albuquerque 2017 to test their Jiu Jitsu. To say they returned victorious is an understatement: Heather Westman returned winning double gold medals (winning her Gi and No-Gi divisions); Walker Madden returned winning double gold medals (winning his Gi and No-Gi Divisions); Allison Walters returned winning double gold medals and a NAGA Sword (winning her Gi and No-Gi divisions). Big Don Westman won the Absolute Gi division NAGA Belt (beating a Black Belt in the finals) and brought home a silver medal in the absolute No-Gi division. Lewi Gault brought home 2 silver medals (taking second place in both his Gi and No-Gi divisions). Vance Barksdale brought home a silver medal in his Gi division and a bronze medal in his No-Gi division. Tanner Gott brought home a silver medal in his No-Gi division and Joe Cousino brought home a bronze medal in his No-Gi division. That’s right: EVERY MEMBER OF THE BJJ STAPLETON COMBAT CREW brought home a medal, with almost half bringing home double gold! Outstanding!! Way to go BJJ Stapleton Combat Crew!!!
