On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Matt Heimburger was awarded his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt up at Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton. Congratulations Matt! The path to Blue has not been easy for Matt – three years, a devastating knee injury, two surgeries which would have ended the practice of Jiu Jitsu for any ordinary human being – Matt absolutely refused to give up. His perseverance in the face of devastating adversity, his commitment to training even through injury and surgery, and the smile on his face every time he was on the mat (even when his doctors told him he might never regain full mobility in his knee) is beyond inspiring – What courage; what heart!
