We have a new BJJ Brown Belt up at Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton! On March 11, 2017, Teri Stewart was promoted to the rank of Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu JItsu. Congratulations to Teri Stewart on earning her Brown Belt! Only a small portion of those who begin the BJJ Journey will ever earn a BJJ Brown Belt. Some estimates say less than 3% of those who begin training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ever earn a Brown Belt; what an achievement! The words of a fellow student present at Teri’s promotion resonate – She said this in her Facebook post:

“One of the greatest moments I’ve been part of in this life, this morning Professor Sean gave our incredible Coach Teri her brown belt. Anyone whose played jiu jitsu for any amount of time knows how challenging the sport is. To earn a blue belt is an accomplishment… but to get all the way to brown… a fraction of the world will ever earn that honor. And earn it you must. Years of hard work, dedication, frustration, injuries, victories, pouring her knowledge, skill, love and energy into her team, Teri has earned this belt with every fiber of her being. As Sean was just telling me… you can’t lie on the mat. Congratulations Teri… we love and celebrate your skill today!!”
That about sums it up! Thank you for your words Stephanie, great insight. Brilliant work Teri!
