Another spectacular day on the competition mats! Saturday June 16, 2018 was a good day for the Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton Combat Crew as we conquered the 2018 Grappling Industries Denver Round Robin Tournament held at the Foothills Fieldhouse. Stephanie Taylor led the way with an amazing Gold Medal performance in the Gi in her first tournament ever as a Blue Belt (wining Bronze in two other divisions as well)! Walker Madden brought home a Gold Medal in the Purple Belt Gi Division and a Silver in the combined Purple, Brown, and Black No-Gi Absolute Division (losing only to his teammate Doomsday Don Westman via a close out arm wrestling loss after both Don and Walker obtained victory against each other participant in the bracket due to the round robin format of the tournament). Don Westman brought home Gold in the combined Purple, Brown, and Black No-Gi Absolute Division and a Bronze in his combined Brown and Black Belt Gi Division. Ronald Robin earned Gold in No-Gi and Silver in the Gi. Josh Taylor won Gold in his White Belt Gi Division. Ryan Collette earned Bronze in his White Belt No-Gi division. Cici Mosley won Gold in his No-Gi kids division. Duncan Robinson won Bronze in his first ever Jiu Jitsu tournament where he rolled in seven matches. And Kate Stewart, at the age of 15, competing for the first time in the adult women’s No-Gi Blue Belt division, against women as much as 25lbs heavier the her, brought home a Bronze! Outstanding! Way to go BJJ Stapleton Combat Crew!
