The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Denver International Open Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship is in the books. Way to get Double Bronze Blu Mays! Way to get Double Gold Ricardo Lewis! You folks rock! Brilliant! Way to go Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Satori!

Big shout out to Michael Petresky who won his first match at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Denver International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship via points after some slick positional control (sweep, pass, back, mount, and guard bottom) and more than a few submission attempts! Brilliant! Mike was DQ’d in his second match after submitting his opponent with a super-slick knee bar: Unfortunately, under IBJJF rules, Purple Belts are not allowed to submit opponents with kneebars! As we often train with kneebars in the Academy during rolling, and as kneebars are a legal technique for Purple Belts under many other rulesets (F2W, Grappling Industries, NAGA, EBI) it’s understandable that a CBJJS athlete might make such an error after an exhausting first match. Way to go Mike! Way to go Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Satori! Outstanding!
