The Yuri Simoes No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Seminar held up at Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Stapleton on Saturday afternoon, June 3, 2017, was outstanding…simply brilliant! Yuri, an ADCC Champion, an IBJJF World Champion, and an IBJJF Pan Jiu Jitsu Champion, who trains out of the Caio Terra Association headquarters located in San Jose, California, taught some beautiful technique, including an arm-drag takedown series (back take, body fold, and ankle pick options); magic setup options from high guard (arm lock, Americana, triangle, straight elbow lock); leg-binding sweep from closed guard (brilliant technique); and finished with sweep options from deep half, half guard and knee shield. Yuri then proceeded to roll with all takers! What an amazing instructor!! Thank you Yuri Simões and thank you to all who gave up their Saturday afternoon to participate. You folks are awesome! Thank you also to coach Ranulfo Gonzalez who organized the seminar and hosted Yuri during his stay in Denver (thanks especially for dragging Yuri to our Friday Fun Jiu Jitsu Open Mat up at CBJJ Stapleton the night before the Seminar, those were some amazing rolls with Yuri – what an opportunity to train with such an accomplished high level grappler two days in a row)!
