After dominating his division at the 2021 World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship at the rank of Blue Belt, Del was promoted to the rank of Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on the podium, by Professor Don Westman, on October 10, 2021. Winning a World Championship is a good way to say goodbye to Blue and hello to Purple. Way to go Del! Way to go Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Satori! My Professor, David Ruiz, used to say that “If you can make it to Purple Belt, you have all the tools you need to make it to Black Belt, you just have to stay on the mat.” Purple Belts are Black Belt hunters: A true Purple Belt is dangerous to everyone, every roll, Black Belts and World Champions alike.
